Library
Specifics:
The
La Salle library contains about 10,000 books.
A large portion of the collection supports the
needs of the junior and senior English classes
for literary criticism. We also have a large
collection of books covering world and American
history topics. The areas of religion, social
sciences, art, and sicence are also large. We
have about 50 different magazines with issues
back to 1999. Our library page links to the
databases provided by OSLIS: EBSCOHost and Newsbank.
We also subscribe to Discovering Collection,
eLibrary, Facts on File, The Grove Art and Music
databases, and the Oxford English Dictionary.

Library
philosophy:
My philosophy is that a library should support
intellectual freedom and encourage inquiry.
In that regard books are purchased for the
library that support our curriculum or promote
thought.

Library
Goals:
It
is the goal of this library to help each student
become efficient and effective users of information
no matter if that information is gathered
from a book, a magazine, a newspaper, an index,
an electronic database, or the internet. Learning
to construct a useful and accurate question
is one of the main ways students can become
efficient users of information. Additionally
students need to know how to evaluate sources
for authority, coverage, objectivity, currency,
and accuracy.
