Meeting Notes -

Note: Today's meeting was manditory, but since there was a problem getting this information through the announcements, there will be no penalty for non-attendence. In the future however, I would love for everyone to come when we have a meeting. If you cannot make it, arrangements can always be made. I did not realize you cannot hear the announcements and therefore most of you did not know about the meeting. We'll try for 100% attendance next time.

Board - Let me know if you are interested in being a Board Member. John, Parker, Amanda P, Kasondra, Molly, Branden, Riley, Jamil, Katie, Rachel B, and Hannah H. have all indicated interest. (Let me know if I missed anyone.)

Service - Individual - Drop-in tutoring, Subject tutoring, Recycling monitoring are all possible La Salle service opportunities. We are in need of Spanish and German subject tutors. See me if interested. If you are performing outside service, just provide me with the hours and a signature.

Service - Group - Wreath Sale and Yule Fest

St. La Salle Day - We will all help with that this year.

Induction Ceremony - November 14. If interested see me. All Board Members iwll be invovled.

Dues - If you paid last year, you are set. If not, see me.

Grades - You must keep your 3.5 cummulative gpa.

Catalog - If you want that special something that shows you are a NHS member, see me.

Web page - If you are reading this you know we have a web page.

Conduct expectations - You are expected to be an example to other students. Your attendence to meetings is manditory.

Announcements - If you have any ideas for getting the NHS news out, let me know. Perhaps Board members can help spread the word or we can put up signs.

Recycling Service

All NHS members have the opportunity to help with the school-wide recycling program. Help is needed in the monitoring aspect. The sophomore are responsible for the recycling. You would be responsible for reminding the sophomores of their recycling duties and then monitoring the recycling centers for bottles and paper to make sure those duties had been completed.
Monitoring will be done once a week. You would also be required to keep a log of your observations and write down any suggestions and provide feedback to Ms. Brunning for any areas of improvement. This would give you 1/2 hour of service per week toward your 2 hours a month.

Spanish Tutoring Service

Ms. Owen has two students who need help in Spanish. If you would like to do this, please see Ms. Own.

Drop-in Tutoring

Students will be coming to the library for homework help. You pick a day to help students in the classroom.
